About this pattern
The body grows from a single mesh at the tip to a straight top edge 301 meshes wide. Every row adds one mesh at each end, and the borzoi appears only from where you fill the meshes.
The ruffle is worked in rows of double crochet along the slanted edges once the body is finished. The pattern gives stitch counts for every ruffle row, so you can stop at the width you like.
