About this pattern
Lunaria is made from four intarsia panels, two for the back and two for the fronts, sewn together so the wings become the sleeves. When you lower your arms the wings fall into soft folds; raise them and the whole moth opens up.
The back carries a moth body along the centre seam: a round head, a lilac collar, a furry thorax, a segmented abdomen and feathered antennae. The eyespots hold small cream crescents, and the little dots along the wing margin are lunules, the crescent marks real moths wear at the edge of their wings.
Two swallowtails hang from the back hem, and a row of scallops finishes the hem and the tails like the frilled edge of a wing.

The wing cut has no fixed bust circumference. Choose by your bust, then check the lower body circumference: leave at least 8–12 cm of ease there. Yarn amounts are estimates for a DK yarn of about 225 m per 100 g.
